Dr Michael Nguyen graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Dental Science in 2009. His first year out was spent at Goulburn Valley Hospital, Shepparton. During that time he gained extensive experience in all aspects of dentistry, particularly in extractions, endodontics and paediatric dentistry. Friday afternoons were spent demonstrating for dental students either in clinic or in theatre, treating children under general anaesthesia.
Since returning to Melbourne, he has worked in exclusive private practices, with a particular interest in cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and orthodontics. He is passionate about delivering gentle, honest, patient-focused care for the whole family; done to the highest standards. This is a philosophy that is instilled in all staff that work at his two practices in Sunshine and Toorak.
Michael is a proud and active member of the Rotary Club of Brimbank Central, and enjoys being part of a club that raises funds for the local community, as well as international humanitarian projects. Apart from this, he loves to spend time in the kitchen, making a mess and enjoying the fruits of his labour! He is a mad soccer and gridiron fan, and tries to keep active whenever his busy schedule allows.
You should ensure that you give your child the highest quality care possible. We know that many children are afraid of dentists. You should not let your child’s dental anxiety prevent you from seeing a pediatric dentist.
If your child has poor oral hygiene, it can affect both their present and future. Consider these five reasons to get your child a pediatric dentist
1. Everything is Child-Friendly
Taking your child to a pediatric dentist is less intimidating than visiting a general dentist. The waiting room of a pediatric dental office is usually equipped with games, televisions, books, and toys mainly because it is designed with the child’s comfort in mind. Your child will feel more at ease, which will benefit their overall dental experience.
2. They Will Receive Personalised Dental Care
If you are looking for children’s dentistry in Toorak, we understand that every mouth is different. We make sure that our professionals develop your child’s oral care treatment plan according to his or her specific needs. This ensures you will always get the right treatment options for your child’s individual needs that will set them up for a lifetime of positive oral health.
3. Child Dental Appointments Can Help Detect Problems Early
It is possible to detect oral health issues early by visiting a pediatric dentist regularly. Dental appointments ensure that the problem is addressed sooner rather than later, whether it’s cavities, toothaches, or gingivitis. If these problems are not caused early, it can lead to fillings or even extractions that are more complex and painful for the child, so catching problems early is essential
4. Specialised Pediatric Equipment
It’s normal for your child to get nervous. To ease children’s fears, our pediatric dentists use specialised instruments. They are not only smaller but also brighter in colour and more aesthetically pleasing, which makes the child more comfortable, making things easier for the dentist and the patient.
5. It Encourages Long-Term Dental Habits
Children can learn good dental habits by visiting a pediatric dentist regularly. They can learn how to brush regularly and how to floss. A pediatric dentist can also reduce your child’s risk of developing dental anxiety in the future.
Our dental treatments designed for children is proficient for treating children of all ages. We will teach your children how to take care of their teeth because we believe that prevention is always better than needing treatment later in life. Our dental service includes:
